My story with Art
I am a Belgian-Spanish visual artist based in Ibiza, with training in Fine Arts, Decorative Arts, and Advertising.
From a young age, art has been my refuge and my most natural form of expression, inspired by the love of drawing and creativity passed on to me by my mother.
My artistic universe is born from the intersection of cultures between Belgium and Spain, a mix that nurtures my gaze with sensitivity.
I mainly work with collage and mixed media, integrating photography, painting, paper, recycled materials, and macramé, a technique I also use to create decorative and monumental pieces full of texture and soul.
Each work is a small story crafted with care, like a puzzle woven with patience, intuition, and dedication. I am fascinated by giving new life to images, transforming fragments into unique compositions that speak of memory, beauty, and transformation.
Every year I present one or two original series in solo and group exhibitions. I also create commissioned works, designed especially for those seeking a piece that reflects their essence, emotions, or memories, including personal photos, symbols, or woven elements with knots and cords.
Education
I studied Fine Arts and Art History at the Académie Royale des Beaux-Arts in Brussels, as well as decorative painting and advertising at the Vander Kelen, Logelain, and Frans Fischer institutes, also in Brussels.
Over the years, I worked extensively with oil paint, learning to make my own paints and mediums, stretch canvases, and prepare fabrics traditionally. Although I do not practice these techniques as much today due to material limitations, they form part of my foundational training and my deep love for the craft.
From a very young age, art has been my language. I learned drawing from live models in a classical academy training, with a humanistic approach that encouraged each student to find their own style beyond following established formulas.
I discovered collage as a self-taught practice, a technique that fascinated me from the start and eventually became my preferred form of expression. My style draws from the freedom of mixed media techniques and experimentation with different materials, supports, and formats.
In addition, I create decorative macramé pieces, usually large-scale, personalized, and commissioned.
Although I began selling my paintings at a young age, it was after the pandemic that I decided to show my art to the world more openly. I launched my social media and began sharing my work more actively. Today I exhibit regularly in Ibiza and other countries, with enthusiasm and gratitude.
